DELETED SCENES
Please note that these scenes have been the casualties of a pretty effective editing process. This is important to remember, since they are therefore not as good as those chapters which made it into the published version of Of the City of the Saved. They're presented here for interest's sake – and I hope they are, in fact, interesting. Anyone coming to them expecting more material of the same quality as the published novel, however, is inevitably going to be disappointed.
- Julian's Dad's Birthday (from the initial proposal).
- Laura Tobin's Resurrection (excised prologue).
- Father Stendec and Omicron Cwej (excised from Chapter 70).
- Voces Populi (deleted in final edit).
- Sidebars (deleted in final edit).
- A Note on Magnitude (deleted in final edit).
The first paragraph above notwithstanding, all but the first two of the above were restored to the text as part of the 2013 ebook edition.
